@Extelec@mstdn.social @dtl@8bitorbust.info @a2es@mstdn.social If I'm using the two piece video receiver horizontally, do I really want the focal point to be lazer focused bang in the middle of them? I guess given the beam width id apparently about 4° this would mean it's less of an issue or does it just mean smaller dishes have less gain (so larger beam width) but a given source could still be between my two receivers? Would I be better off getting a single receiver with somewhat lower gain at the focal point (to scoop up everything from the dish)?

@davep@infosec.exchange @Extelec@mstdn.social @a2es@mstdn.social you won't really get a sharp focus, you get a spot about 1.2 * wavelength / dish diameter at absolute best.
