Whenever I hear "but for me AI is useful", all I hear is the end of the Parable Of The Nazi Bar. "you have to ignore all their reasonable arguments because their end goal is to be terrible, awful people." Except the AI enthusiasts are legitimizing, empowering and funding the terrible, awful people, for that meager benefit. Imagine the Parable Of The Nazi Bar ending with "... but they pay their tabs and sometimes wipe the counters and that's useful for me so it's fine to let this happen."
