I'd try inspecting for any cracks and then cleaning that outside rubber seal and its mating surface. It looks like that would be the only area allowing water to leak out. Any other leaks would stay inside the unit?
Did you try snugging up those bolts that old it together as a first attempt?

@lfisk@infosec.exchange It's not leaking out of the unit, it is leaking from one of the "ports" that the internal plate controls. There's scratches on the teflon surface, not sure if that is it, and certainly a variety of internal gaskets involved. It's tempting to get a new control valve setup, but I'm guessing my wife would prefer a new one given how long we've had this.
