@foolishowl@social.coop I've heard this is terrible in the US. I feel that's partly a failed regulation issue - here (Czechia), I take almost all calls, because spam/advertising calls are +/- sensibly regulated and thus are not so frequent.

@modrak_m@bayes.club @foolishowl@social.coop same in UK, its relatively rare to get scam/spam calls, our Communications Ministry (Ofcom) is strict about correct use of caller ID, so spammers are quickly identified and my device even warns if an unfamiliar call is suspect..
