@modrak_m@bayes.club @foolishowl@social.coop same in UK, its relatively rare to get scam/spam calls, our Communications Ministry (Ofcom) is strict about correct use of caller ID, so spammers are quickly identified and my device even warns if an unfamiliar call is suspect..

@vfrmedia@social.tchncs.de @modrak_m@bayes.club @foolishowl@social.coop I'm in the UK and almost all of my incoming calls are spam. But I've also had the same (mobile) phone number for 30 years. Regulation simply doesn't work: VoIP providers buy UK numbers and sell them to people operating scam callcentres. If Ofcom eventually gets around to doing anything, that customer gets terminated and immediately replaced by an identical one employing the same people in the same country.
