And also, that first post? here’s why I switched the words:
misinfo is unknowingly spreading stuff that isn’t true or is just a -small- part of a larger truth
(like spreading headlines that say "genetic factors found in those who develop ___!!!!” when MOST of the risks of developing ____comes from risk factors in the environment: whether living near toxic dumps or other stuff)
Disinfo is persisting in telling that shit, once you should reasonably know it’s inaccurate or not the whole story

Look, we all contain a bunch of overlapping identities and some of those identities really have been steeped in a bunch of ideologies that ...can... make us a bit fragile around some info. And for some it’s entire realms related to social facts (full fascists). And for others, just a few things might threaten us It's the (often un recognized) ideologies around the identities that make people fragile. Such as "I am smart, therefore I am always smart." Those things can trip people up.
