In days I'll be able to finalise the affairs of my mum who died five months ago. Dealing with the unreliable, obtuse system has been difficult, and with family members too. Even though the latter was generally ok, earlier dealings when mum went into a home left me full of anxiety whenever I deal with them. Fuckers. Soon I'll have very little occasion to interact with them at all and I just might open some champagne to toast my "did her best" mum and celebrate no more family. #ActuallyAutistic

Having said that I want to honour my mum. Once I was old enough to have a voice we had a difficult relationship. She always trying to look after me, and me wanting to get away and be free from her attention. It took a long time but eventually I wanted to reconnect with her and dad, and thankfully we did. She, like me didn't know why I was different, but now I see how she did her best. She was always on my side, always trying to help but blindfolded. Her love was indefatigable. Thanks mum ❤️

@doggle@mastodon.online For my money, "Fuckers" is the technical term for family members when you're dealing with issues around death, especially when it comes to the will. Which leads to the useful saying: "Fuck off, you fucking fuckers." 💜
