I was recently sent to a workshop by my day job on the new AI-first (-only?) development methodology they want us to switch to. I can't help but think that a system that has LLMs generating reams of code but puts the responsibility on engineers to understand all of it feels like a bit of a con - and unsafe. Like a software version of the idea that humans should be immediately ready to take over from self-driving cars when they can't cope with an emergency.

@airadam@mastodon.me.uk @Em0nM4stodon@infosec.exchange AI-first development methodology? Do they also require mandatory lobotomies? And there I thought development started with *thinking* about the problem you want to solve and *designing* a solution to it. AI-first development makes about as much sense as StackOverflow-first development. Sorry you’re being forced into this.

@airadam@mastodon.me.uk If the self-driving car was going 2,000 kph.
