I think these questions about what turned out better for the Jews is interesting. However, looking at the landscape post-oct 7th I think the important answer is that all the improvements anywhere were conditional and ephemeral in the end.

@dukepaaron@babka.social as a kid in New Jersey, Washington crossing the Delaware and the march to Valley Forge were local history. It never even occurred to me to question whether independence was actually the right call, probably until I was in Scotland soon after their independence referendum, and was talking to locals about their thoughts on it. I might lean vaguely towards British control having been better for everyone other than the American colonists, but it’s so hard to even pretend to know how things would have gone when we started making major changes to the timeline. Doc Brown warned us about this!
