While we’re here, let’s take a moment to imagine that without that cheap labor, the economy would have collapsed, just like today a living wage would cause the economy to collapse.
The economy is such a weird thing. Always on the brink of collapsing because workers demand whatever, and only ever collapsing when overrich idiots gamble too hard during their wealth hoarding competition.

If the economy doesn’t work without slaves then let it collapse. What you call economy is the siphoning of wealth. Those doing actual work will survive, because they can work. Some leeches may starve, but that’s a price I’m willing to pay.
