@forestfern IANAG. Things I remember from conversations with friends who are:
Deer won't jump a fence they can't see over or through. And they don't like predator urine. Have dogs visit, or use urine from an omnivorous human. I don't know if house cats' urine smells enough like lynx & cougar to deter deer.
