(Boosts appreciated!) Canadian folks, the government has put out a survey about transparency around "AI". Please take the time and fill it out — https://ised-isde.canada.ca/site/ised/en/have-your-say-advancing-ai-transparency-canada It's the Carney government, so everything is slanted towards businesses and still does nothing to acknowledge the environmental impact, the current harms it's causing (including that to the open web), or recognize that this is ultimately a technology built on and for labour exploitation… But nearly everything is a free text field, so you can let them know exactly what you think of this crap.

@uncoolmouse@retro.pizza every answer I could give included some element of it cannot ever be trustedonly AI abstinence is appropriate for government, Heath, justice, finance and insuranceit has large swaths of actual and probable harms with little to no benefits, none that outweigh the harms. And yes it was a slog. Painful and not in good faith.

@uncoolmouse@retro.pizza I tried to do it but it's exhausting and repetitive and I eventually gave up. It may be AI slop itself, but just as likely is what comes out of a government committee of people who don't understand the subject.
