Correct me if I'm wrong, but while this isn't a cause for alarm for the general public or event most security geeks, this sort of thing is generally considered a pretty big deal within the cryptology community, right?

@DaveMWilburn@infosec.exchange @wdormann@infosec.exchange yeah, exactly - I'm no AI apologist, but reduced-round attacks are a very standard cryptanalysis technique, and finding a novel easy to break "n" rounds is potentially a big deal
