I am going to walk you through the process of untwisting your floppy cable in case the same asshole has done this to yours as well.
The first step is to gently remove the IDC edge connector by prying open the tabs. Be gentle, these tabs are more fragile than my emotional state

Now we can see the crime scene more clearly. It is tempting to just pull up the seven flipped wires, flip them back and recrimp it. You risk not getting a good connection. I would recommend pulling the whole thing out and trimming the cable, but you do you.
