I suppose if I'd 'done my research' I wouldn't be surprised, but, I didn't and I'm now very sad. I just started a book (Black Diamond from 2025) by Neal Asher, who has been a favourite spec-fic author for years. The dedication page up front is a gushing nose-up-the-bum peon to Elon full of thanks and tributes. Damn, I thought someone who writes about dystopian worlds for a living would be more 'in touch' than that. Sheesh. So do I enjoy the book regardless, DNF it in protest (he'll never know), or something else? #AuthorLetDown (Edit: self-boosted, sorry about that!)
