“I don’t have the time/energy/attention/focus for that,”
“That’s not a priority,”
“I’m too busy,”
“I’m overwhelmed,”
“Go away”…
These all sound at least a little insulting, either to the person asking or to myself.
What did we used to say before “bandwidth” became a thing?

@mcmullin@musicians.today Miles Davis would just say, "Not now, baby." Or at least that was the entire text of the chapter on him in a journalist's book of her best jazz interviews 😅
