I realize I'm screaming into the void here because I feel like most of my followers are better than this, but when you begin messaging someone online, do not ever start the exchange with "are you a <gender>?" (are you a girl/woman/female or are you a man/guy/male). If you're going to say this, I suggest you immediately shut your mouth. I assure you that almost nobody is comfortable when this happens to them. People, but in my experience especially women or people with feminine sounding names/usernames, get far, far too much of this horseshit. It's not cute, it's not funny, it does not make people feel good, and it does not make people want to talk to you. There is no good reason I can think of for why a person's gender should immediately be your business in a casual chat setting. Stop it. You have no idea how tired of this I am

@Kaliah@dragonscave.space If that ever happened to me, whoever did that would get blocked and told to fuck all the way off.

@Kaliah@dragonscave.space This typical „are you m or f thing“ in front of every chat, and a lot of the time unfortunately made by people of my gender. It’s so retarded and it’s ruining chat culture in lots of places. Some men seam to confuse every chat app with a dating site.
