@jonben@social.spejset.org selfreliance doesnt sit well with socialism. Anrachism is the exception. Socialism requieres regulation, but in the times we are living today its usually socialists that want less goverment and right wingers wants to control. Even though it goes against the capitlist agenda(historically)

@maffia@mastodon.social Ok, I come at this from a libertarian (socialist) perspective so that might be why I don't agree. I think there is a need for a socialist concept of self-reliance, beyond the social democratic understanding on the individual being free from other relations than reliance on the state. And I don't agree that self-reliance and regulation are necessarily mutually exclusive concepts.
