I think the best thing about the ongoing Count Binface saga is the fact that he's actually genuinely funny - as a character concept, when interacting in interviews and also his manifesto "pledges" etc. It's good to see the British tradition of novelty election candidates being continued

    @fraggle@social.coop 100% agree. Always felt the Monster Raving party were absurdist for the sake of it. Like Monty Python. Binface feels like he's holding up a mirror to the current politicians to reveal how hypocritical they are.

    And I say this in part because the long standing "joke party" (monster raving loonies) are really not funny at all. If you read their website their policies are all bottom of the barrel humour like "a court of human lefts to balance the court of human rights". It's like your cringeworthy uncle dressing up in a silly costume and trying to be funny
