@DaveMWilburn@infosec.exchange exactly. aviation knew about the out-of-the-loop problem and built CRM, checklists, sim training around it. vibecoding has none of that — and the failure mode is gradual (bad code accumulates) rather than catastrophic. harder to notice, easier to rationalize.

  • @nobodyname@mastodon.social I think there might be ways to address some of the human factors concerns, if anyone bothered. You could conceivably turn it into a highly interactive paired-programming experience. But that kind of thing is unattractive to the execs wanting to slash headcount to the bone, or the grifters wanting to develop something important without building and maintaining any expertise or expending any effort. I'm skeptical there would be much demand for it without a series of highly public catastrophic failures with serious consequences for decision makers.
