@rhys@mastodon.rhys.wtf (obviously biased sample, but not a single person I know has mentioned changing their attitude based on Burnham, and several have been vocal that his backing of transphobic policies, North Sea drilling, and the immigration regime are deal-breakers)

@shimminbeg@masto.ai This is why I think he has no hope. He wants to expand the voter window leftward while holding on to the centre/right-flank — but the folks who fled leftward are deeply committed to the causes he wants to hold or advance (like drilling) rightward. Maybe he's banking on a total collapse to the left from other parties — Greens and LibDems have both hit 8% in the last week — and that folks will come rushing back, but I don't see it.
