The first album I ever owned was Dirt by Alice in Chains. Mum (reluctantly) bought it on early-days Amazon for me. It might also have been the first thing mum bought online too.
The first album I ever listened to was a cassette of Human Racing by Nik Kershaw that I found in my dad’s old room at my grandparents’ home.

@ret@furry.engineer Being a kid of the 80s, I grew up with lots of German pop music and whatever international charts hits our radio stations imported. My first own album was a vinyl pack of synthesizer cover versions, which got me heavily into Electronica (Kraftwerk, Jarre, Vangelis..) that I'm still a big fan and collector of nowadays. Over the decades I went through Techno (90s) and Metal (00s) phases, but neither of these ever fully converted me over.
