  @lauren@mastodon.laurenweinstein.org I don't care if they scan some old books.. it's the "destroying the originals" part that makes me want to stab some CEOs. They claim it's just because "reselling the used antiques would be too much effort", but we all know they just want to be the only people who've ingested that content into their slop machine. Training data exclusivity is the next new marketing ploy.

  @georgetakei@universeodon.com .. that tinkering with hormone levels can have crazy side effects if you don't screen the patients regularly (as in "every few weeks") and keep a tight medical feedback loop? T or E pills aren't something you just taken when you feel like it, like an Aspirin.

  @lauren@mastodon.laurenweinstein.org If the crappy AI managed to break out of its containment, doesn't that rather demonstrate what a shitty mess their (surely vibecoded) security/backend stuff is? It's very obvious this "warning" was intended as a viral marketing attempt, but as a technician it only makes me want to touch their software even less.

  I need help identifying a vintage connector.. does anyone have an idea what this 12-pin plug is called, or can provide me with a link to the appropriate counterpart (or even have one at hand to sell me)? This is on a Siemens paper tape reader, ca. 1960, originally meant to be connected to a Gretag Tape Sender. Boosts appreciated :-)
