Swapped hotels, I liked the Shibuya one which was modest, but now compelled to move into a 5 star one near the conference center which I already dislike as it feels like half an Italian mountain was excavated to supply the marble. Baggage was heavy so opted for £100 taxi ride which was also fun. So much of the Tokyo road system is layered too, with elevated sections running for long spans, and they feel like tunnels as they are walled to suppress noise pollution for the areas they pass through.
