is anyone ever going to tell white guys on youtube that while video games can be a fun hobby they're not a personality and they don't ultimately matter in the world
like maybe a game gave you joy, helped you through a bad month or introduced you to a friend or changed how you think about stories. and those things matter because it became part of your actual life
but 'I need to consume this culturally approved object so I can have the correct opinions and remain current' is just homework assigned by capitalism

@Taweret@timeloop.cafe I sure miss the days of sharing Tron patterns for the cycles on notebook paper, counting our quarters, and trying them out later. We had lives and homework too tho. Being schoolkids and all.

youtube recommended me a video of a guy complaining AAA games are too long and a slog and it felt like a relief to be finished with one and like dude, don't play them then. who told you you had to? you don't have to give Sony 70 dollars every few weeks. you are actually free to spend your money and time as you wish
