Many used to be locked in to Windows because of its large application catalog. Now there are good (enough) open source application for most use cases and commercial software often runs on Linux as well. Many can now run non-Windows operating systems and survive.

Some mainstream PC hardware manufacturers have computers with pre-installed Linux in their catalogs. Dell started this twenty years ago in 2006. Recently Lenovo has taken even more radical steps towards Linux, mainly for economical and customer satisfaction reasons. 11/21 #linux #dell #lenovo
