people will really just take a tiny part of something you said 3+ years ago in a different context with different status quo and try and use that against you in a completely unrelated discussion, because apparently some people consider ad-hominem a valid argument. sometimes I wonder why I bother replying to some people at all, especially when a thread has clearly turned into a bad faith flamewar without any actual care for finding some objective truth.
