Have listened to some of the coverage from France about the fires. I think de Havilland greately underestimates the importance of the "Canadair" brand. The media all clamour for information about the Canadairs and why France doesn't have any more. (Canadair is the CL415 water bombers). French govt officials are careful to not explain the model has been out of production since 2015 and that a new company is trying to restart production and just state that they can only produce them slowly.
