Claude warns users that by hitting the "share button" anyone with the link can view the content, but it is not clear that they are creating a document that can be indexed by Google and will come up in searches. https://futurism.com/artificial-intelligence/claude-chats-publicly-accessible

@evacide@hachyderm.io The same company that overwrote config options for other software on the user's computer is sharing documents they made without telling them it can be indexed by Google? Quelle surprise, or something i guess

@evacide@hachyderm.io The /share/ directory isn't listable (and I surely hope they got at least that much right from the get-go). That ought to mean Google bot can't directly crawl those interactions, and needs a starting hint to find each one, right? So someone must have placed the share link in something google-indexable... Does Google use links in people's gmail mailboxes as starting points to crawl websites or something?

  • @evacide@hachyderm.io That isn’t the way Google rolls these days. You’re supposed to provide agent ready content to Google for its own systems to assemble and present to users
