Wool carder bees are funny. If you get close to their flowers, they will dart around and hover, staring at you from different spots and angles, making it very clear this is their territory. They move so fast, I can usually only get good photos when they stop for a few seconds to copulate (which they do a lot). So I was thrilled when this one stood still long enough for a couple of closeups. I don't have a fancy camera or macro lens but this is not bad eye detail for a phone camera. #bee
