@thakur0@lemmy.zip Back when I ran Plex, our Internet went out a lot - this was what led me to Plex, you might say, and be correct when saying it. So it became surreally absurd when the Internet went out and we could no longer connect to our Plex server that was running in our own house. If Plex can't phone home, no movies for you, plebe. I have never had a problem of that nature with Jellyfin. I also have not had Jellyfin start trying to shove ad-supported shit at me. So yah, it's better, for those reasons, if any Plexboys wanna offer any counter-facts. Skip the counterfeels, nobody cares. And you can use a Zero Trust from Cloudflare, OR Tailscale even has a public egress function now too, to get it out of your home network. Everyone will get fed up with Plex's enshittification on their own schedule, but I would advise you to avoid the headaches and just install Jellyfin. @remon@ani.social
