Relationships, roles, and responsibilities is, I think, tricky terrain for most of us.
I have mostly only had 3 jobs in this relationship.
1) Bring home money.
2) Be the "knower of things".
3) Provide emotional support for the kids and gee-kids.
That first one is no more. That second one, well, fucking wikipedia has greatly reduced my stock in that area. And #3, well, I still do a little bit of that, but they're all grown-ups now, and have their own sources of solace, for the most part.

My advice, which sometimes I even manage to follow: put it on the table so we can poke at it and talk about it. We *can* fix things that we won't talk about, but it's one helluva lot harder that way. Or, as moms the world over have been saying for thousands of years, "Use your words, honey."
