I've just set up a new topping up system for my pond, to replace the previous gravity drip feed from my water butts. A 12 V peristaltic pump in a 3D printed mount is installed inside the garage, with 4 mm hoses from the water butts and to the pond. A time switch runs it for ½ an hour every 3 hours, to be adjusted as needed.

@jim_easterbrook@mstdn.social That's a bit clever! Peristaltic pumps takes me back to my early days in laboratories when they were ubiquitous for chemical analysis. Different sized tubing for different volumes, with cams on the motor to adjust the delivery. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AutoAnalyzer
