@kravietz@agora.echelon.pl Apart from a radical fringe, they will usually admit Hamas did war crimes (though they will prefer to say they “did some bad things” or even just that “an event happened”). That's not a problem. But they will predictably follow it up with a “but” with some kind of denial of Palestinian agency. They will say “Hamas was funded by Israel”, implying that pretty much whatever happened Israelis did it to themselves and Gazans had nothing to do with it. Or they will present Oct 7 as some kind of uncontrolled fit of frustrated powerlessness, ignoring the fact that Gaza spent 20 years strategically planning and building the whole giant infrastructure for this specific war fought in this specific way. Or they will shrug “what else could they have done”. Denying Palestinian agency distorts the perception of the conflict much more than denying any specific crimes.
