@rcz@101010.pl That’s what I’m talking about. Two sides of conflict can be wrong and commit war crimes at the same time. This is not an XOR situation. I have no idea why some morons from the political science community force the view that it has to be always a strictly binary situation.

@kravietz@agora.echelon.pl Apart from a radical fringe, they will usually admit Hamas did war crimes (though they will prefer to say they “did some bad things” or even just that “an event happened”). That's not a problem. But they will predictably follow it up with a “but” with some kind of denial of Palestinian agency. They will say “Hamas was funded by Israel”, implying that pretty much whatever happened Israelis did it to themselves and Gazans had nothing to do with it. Or they will present Oct 7 as some kind of uncontrolled fit of frustrated powerlessness, ignoring the fact that Gaza spent 20 years strategically planning and building the whole giant infrastructure for this specific war fought in this specific way. Or they will shrug “what else could they have done”. Denying Palestinian agency distorts the perception of the conflict much more than denying any specific crimes.
