@lehtimaeki@snapp.social Innovators Dilemmas! Consumers are partly to blame in having unrealistic expectations of reliability for cockpit software while expecting it feel like the future. Slate is taking the better approach here and pushing all that to the user’s devices where faster update cadence is expected with commensurately lower reliability. In some sense it’s just form factor: people are fine with their black slab rebooting but find it terrifying when their car does it even if the safety is the same.
