Because no one can do a convincing giant locust mating call, the bug scientist tells the general he will need a live giant locust for this plan to work. I'm not sure if they've even killed any of the giant locusts, yet, despite all the tank rounds and flame throwers they've employed.
But they army dudes seem willing enough to send One Guy to go with the bug scientist to try to capture and one.

We discovered that if you throw a smoke grenade at a giant locust you can easily capture it and relocate it to a giant cage. Unfortunately, there was no scene where a whole bunch of army dudes were dragging the giant grasshopper into the cage. Anyway, the bug scientist has hooked the giant prisoner up to a lie detector so we can test if the fake locust mating call we're making makes the real locust hot and bothered. #monsterdon #BeginningOfTheEnd #GrasshoppersVsPostcards
