@duk3luk3@cloudisland.nz Thanks, I hadn't heard of sensorless homing, will research that. I don't have beds with well visible reflections. A metal gauge might help with the fact that paper, in addition to being not super reliable, tends to rip and bend rather fast, so I can't even keep the one same paper around forever. The issue with metal gauges though is that then the nozzle might push the print bed down, once again removing any accuracy and reliability.

  • @wildrikku@mastodon.gamedev.place @duk3luk3@cloudisland.nz You use the metal shim gauges like you would use the paper, slide it between the nozzle and bed so there's just a bit of drag. I installed heavier springs on my bed to make things more repeatable.
