Aviation is such a luxury product in absolute terms its only a fraction of global emissions. (2.5%, great for virtue signalling, not useful for combating climate change) 2. Because of the nature of planes, making Jet A1 more expensive in one place just makes planes fuel up more in another place, thereby flying with a less efficient W&B and burning more net fossil fuels.

    @agajdosi@witter.cz @EUCommission@ec.social-network.europa.eu (I.e. every jet coming into the EU from outside it would shove itself full of as much Jet A-1 as it's W&B limits allow it to take, and would not only be emitting more. But the fuel would also generally come from places where refineries operate by lower standards. Most of our Jet A-1 cokes from refineries in France, Germany and the Netherlands which are some of the cleanest and most efficient in the world.)
