I like it because it's a batshit crazy question to ask anyone, in an interview or elsewhere. The sky is a fixture -- a universal experience. The idea that someone would be able to provide a meaningful answer to it that would provide any information is kind of nutso.

The most charitable interpretation I can come up with is that she had been talking about her childhood, had mentioned the big skies, and the interviewer followed up with this question. So, it's a bit of synecdoche, like "What were the skies like (in the place you lived) when you were young?" I haven't been able to confirm it; I can't find a clip of the interview that doesn't start with this question.

@evan@cosocial.ca I think it's a great question to ask in an interview setting. Let's the interviewee really open up and talk about their childhood a bit and be nostalgic.
