I've even seen it turn into a cycle of abuse - A abuses B, B abuses C, C abuses A etc. Relationships are complicated, and if you're person D, you can't really place anyone in that cycle exclusively as the good guy or the bad guy. It's hard to know what to do - especially if you're in a minority community where losing this community might leave you effectively alone in your region.
