@Sheep_Overboard@infosec.exchange The little 250g blocks of pumpernickel are about $5-6 these days. Shelf life of forever but just not as handy as regular breads. It's a specialty product which appears on charcuterie boards with other highly labour intensive foods. I love the stuff but had trouble finding it locally so I worked out how to DIY.

  • @weezmgk@mastodon.social And presumably you're not using floor sweepings 🙂 I discovered it as a teen and occasionally imbibe. Also back then discovered Vogel's small compact grain bread, which was glorious toasted with butter. Don't know if it's me or modern versions, but they don't have that magic taste I recall. Maybe it was just the discovery, after a full childhood in the 50s raised on fresh pure white bread.
