NFS version 3 protocol servers must be able to recover without data loss from multiple power failures (including cascading power failures, that is, several power failures in quick succession), operating system failures, and hardware failure of components other than the storage medium itself (for example, disk, nonvolatile RAM).TIL If your file server is too unstable, it's technically an RFC violation.

    @niconiconi@mk.absturztau.be Kind of awkward to have this in the spec, like… I'd typically more push that problem on the protocol+clients (quite like how ZFS doesn't really trusts storage, after all it's external).
