When I was a kid if you watched a movie there was at least a 50% chance the parents were already dead, or would die in the first act. The Land Before Time, Bambi, The Lion King, Oliver & Company, The Neverending Story, Pocahontas, etc. etc. etc. What do kids get today? Crime solving foxes and bunnies, Paddington Bear, Lilo and Stitch. I think they had to want us to grow up weird.
