The same was said for possessing nuclear weapons. A nation that has them should be immune from attack, because no sane people would want to provoke retaliation by nuke. Yet #Ukraine is now attacking the nation which possesses the most #nuclear weapons of any nation on earth. If nuclear deterrence is not enough to protect #Russia from attacks on its own soil, then NATO also falls short of being the Savior of the world.

@Earl@mast.john1126.com To put it very clearly. The Russian war criminals are the aggressors, and Ukraine is defending itself. This defense is entirely legitimate under international law and should not be criticized in any way. Since Ukraine has the support of NATO countries and others as well, it would be too great a risk for those in power in the Kremlin to use a nuclear weapon—especially since they would then likely lose China’s support, and the Russians truly cannot afford that.
