It's funny, but also consider the Kostas character in the skit…the sneering hubris… honestly this -is- patriarchy without much embellishment at all…(consider the IRL lies by GOP).

and those real life GOP "leaders" just lying their asses off about phone calls? Isn't lying... like….shouldn't it lead to consequences? The reason these guys are able to lie in ways that are -truly seditious- is because they got so many damned passes as shitty men doing shitty things. it's a kind of a signature pattern for patriarchy.
