@crk5@aus.social a guy once told me how every year the 6th graders in his middle school were led on a field trip, "to the old cracker factory". The way he described it though, the factory had closed down a decade ago, so it was a field trip to an abandoned warehouse. He did not know why this place was important to anybody. This was so absurd I started joking about the name. "The Cracker Factory sounds like the whitest club in Detroit. Everybody be like, 'Hey y'all, let's go down to the Cracker Factory.'"
