@20002ist@thepit.social How long is that contract for? $292,000,000 for 2000 troops is $146,000 each. If this is through the end of Trump’s term, that’s about $5000/mo per guard member for housing. You can rent a pretty nice apartment for that in DC.
I don’t object to anyone being comfortable, but this seems kind of excessive.

For comparison, the current military housing allowance for a single army Captain (O-3) assigned to the DC area is only $3531/mo.
