For a plethora of reasons, incluing making our planet unfit for human (or other) life, the private car is a rather bad idea.
So I hope that the spying on you bit will be the last straw and people will start figuring out how to do without. Neither my father nor I ever bought a car. It really is possible.

@djl@mastodon.mit.edu @dcuthbert@defcon.social @thedarktangent@defcon.social That's a valid POV, if you live in Tokyo or any place where public transport is viable. Not saying it has to be a car, but individually controlled means of transport are crucial to society and economy. As an example, I invite you to study the importance of the moped as personal transport for rural northern #Sweden, especially wrt economy and perhaps even genetics.
