@quixoticgeek@social.v.st Even just the infrastructure itself... 911 calls and dispatch are all critical infrastructure, what happens if the bot crashes out? If it loses connection to its host server, since no way any institution would be able to afford (or willing to pay for) the requisite hardware to run multiple instances of the appropriate language models, STT, and TTS all at once to handle the call processing. The latter two are easier to run locally, but they don't matter if the language model disappears from 911's perspective. It's chaotic enough as-is if their phone lines go offline, being fundamentally unable to answer calls because you fired too many people capable of processing the calls calmly despite the lines still working would be its own kind of hell.
