But near-0 will put effort to construct slowly or sit down with you as a long-term effort to add some progress or for find a way together as a kind of therapy / patch-your-own-problem or fix-the-system-ourselves idea. Handful from millions. It's turtle defense & family for most (even that they might feel "I have to" because of blood-relations otherwise they'd cut that too) People settle for #anonymous blood-sucking $ystem$.

    @collective_truth@mastodon.social That's a good, valid point. I don't share the same experience, but I can see it happening with other people. It wasn't always like that though, was it? I mean, if you look into what #SocialTools did in the late 90s and early 00s they would probably align more with what you're hinting above. Now that we've lost them, both "older" and younger generations don't want to invest much energy, effort and intent when they know algos run the system. Don't see that happen in #Fediverse.
